Subarnapur: Soil Conservation Overseer Apprehended for Taking Bribe 

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended Sudhanshu Sekhar Rana, Soil Conservation Overseer, Ulunda Block in Subarnapur district for allegedly taking bribe.

Rana was caught while accepting bribe of Rs.11,000 at Patabhadi Chowk, Sonepur from a beneficiary for facilitating release of final bill for completion of work under “Excavation of Farm Pond” scheme.

The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Rana and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Rana from DA angle, the Vigilance informed.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 18 dt.02.08.2024 U/s 7 PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Rana.
