Sundargarh: When it comes to lending a helping hand to the young aspirants who are in the cusp of making their entry into a successful career, Sundargarh is leading the way with its unique program called Sudakhya. The special training program initiated by the district administration to coach job aspirants is making silent waves. With the aim of preparing the youth for their future career endeavors, the Sudakhya program has come as a blessing for more than 180 young men and women especially from the mines and minerals bearing areas of the district. The numbers are going to rise in the coming days with the program enrolling more aspirants in batches.
Sudakhya is one of the most impactful and ambitious skill development and job placement programs being taken up under the District Mineral Development Fund. The aim of the initiative is to bridge the information gap between the available jobs and opportunities and the aspirants. The three months Sudakhya program coaches the aspirants on various issues and topics with doubt clearing sessions, surprise exams, technology usage, soft skills training and above all informing them regarding the openings both in the state and the country.
The selected aspirants are mentored for various exams starting from Banking, UPSC, Staff Selection and RRB exams to Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Odisha Police, Paramilitary forces, Insurance etc. As a part of this, all government job notifications are also being directly sent to them for readiness. The priority for the initiative has been on providing placements to these young and enthusiastic aspirants in the district itself. Whenever any suitable opening comes up, they are encouraged and trained to apply for the same.
With the Covid-19 pandemic hampering classroom coaching, the district administration made efforts for conducting online classes with full enthusiasm of the participants. It also made provisions to give free tabs to the aspirants so that there is no difficulty in online classes. Along with this, educational kits distribution and regular counseling sessions are organized.
In Sudakhya program, the priority has been on including especially the women aspirants, Scheduled Tribes and those from the mining areas. Wherever required, they are also provided hostel facilities with all amenities. The three Sudakhya coaching centers of the district at Sundargarh, Bonai and Rourkela have been provided with modern technology to impart coaching in online mode.
One among the selected aspirants is Baby sahoo – a self-motivated aspirant for the pre-recruitment training program. She assists her father in their shop while taking online classes. She aspires to serve in the armed forces and Sudakhya is there to help her in her endeavors.
For Anita, a young aspirant from Indrapura village in Kuarmunda Block of Sundargarh District, who has been enrolled under the Sudakhya program, the coaching program has come as a great help. She says, “I am preparing for the Railway Jobs. The Sundargarh District administration has been providing me free coaching which has greatly helped me. For Sudakhya Coaching, I am able to prepare for the job exams through online mode also. The administration has also provided study materials to me at my doorsteps, for which I am very thankful to them.
Speaking on this unique initiative by the administration, Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan says that, “It is a unique program undertaken by the administration to help the job aspirants with all possible facilities. We want to see that our young men and women get good jobs in whatever field they are interested. We are facilitation good coaches and training materials. The success of Sudakhya will also be emulated in other areas in the coming days.”
