“2,872 Free Ultrasound and other Tests conducted and 12 High Risk Cases managed under ‘Matrujyoti’ in Sundargarh during November 2021. The high risk pregnant women were taken to DHH and RGH for timely health treatment. The programme is supported by DMF”, informed Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan through Twitter handle.

Notably, the district administration had launched the ‘Matrujyoti’, one of the major transformative initiatives for the development of women and child, in October last year.

The transformative initiative facilitates four ultrasound tests to every pregnant woman in the district. The service is being provided at 8 state-run health centres and 41 affiliated private ultrasound clinics in the district.

The Asha and Anganwadi workers take the pregnant women with them for the ultrasound tests and consult to the doctors.
