Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Sunday appointed senior IAS officer Suresh Chandra Mahapatra as the chairman of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) in Bhubaneswar.
“In exercise of the power conferred under Sub-section 5 of Section 82 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (No. 36 of 2003) the State Government is pleased to appoint Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, IAS, Chief Secretary & Chief Development Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha as Chairperson, Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) with effect from the date he assumes the Office,” an official notification issued by Energy Department said.
Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, who is the current Chief Secretary of Odisha, will retire from service on February 28.
He will be replaced by Pradeep Kumar Jena for the top post.
