Bhubaneswar: Talcher Medical College and Hospital in Angul district will be named after the great freedom fighter Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
To honour the contribution of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan towards India’s freedom movement and development of Odisha, the Pabitra Mohan Smruti Peeth at Talcher will be developed and a full-size statue of him will be installed in Bhubaneswar, the CM said.
Similarly, the bridge under construction over the Brahmani River at Kaniha will also be named after late Pradhan.
Notably, during the visit of Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian to Angul, the local people proposed to name the Medical College & Hospital after him to preserve the memory of the great fighter Late Pradhan.
The Chief Minister has taken this decision respecting the wishes of the people.
