Three Maoists Surrender before Police in Malkangiri 

Malkangiri: Three Maoists have surrendered before the police in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thursday.

The surrendered Maoists have been identified as Dev Madvi, Adam Madkami and Muka Sodi. They belong to the Sukma area in Chhattisgarh. They surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri.

As per reports, Deva Madvi joined GRD (Grama Rakshya Dala) under Konta AC of South Bastar Division in 2020 and served from his base in Entapad until January 2024. Following the establishment of a CRPF camp at Dabakonta, Madvi decided to leave GRD.

Similarly, Adma Madkami was part of the Bhumkhal militia of Konta AC in 2019. In 2021, he joined GRD and remained active until January 2024.

Sodi initially joined as a Maoist Militia member of Konta AC in 2018. He transitioned to become a GRD member in 2022, performing tasks such as ration collection and courier duties for the Maoist group. Sodi left the rebel organization after the CRPF camp was set up at Dabakonta.

The surrendered Maoists will be rehabilitated as per the Odisha Government’s effective rehabilitation policy, according to police.
