Puri: Expensive timber worth Rs 5 Crore was destroyed in a major fire accident that happened late last night at Nabakalebara Road in Puri.
The fire at Shri Jagannath Woods was so huge that seven fire engines took about seven hours to douse the fire completely.
An electrical short circuit is said to have triggered the fire. On getting the information regarding the fire, the Puri Fire Services team including about 35 personnel swung into action and tried for hours to douse the fire.
Fire engines from the city and other nearby places were placed in the services. There have been no reports of any loss of lives or injuries.
