Traders Close Market Building In Bhubaneswar Indefinitely
Bhubaneswar: The conflict between traders and temporary street vendors in the Market Building complex of Bhubaneswar took new turn today as the Central Market Building Traders Association gave a call for indefinite closure of the market. According to reports, about 165 traders of Market Building will sit on protest demanding action against the street vendors. The Central Market Association had given three days time to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to solve the conflict between the permanent traders and the temporary vendors, but no solution could be found and hence the Association took the decision to close the market indefinitely. Market Building is the oldest and most busiest marketing place and records thousands of footfalls daily.
The Market Building Traders Association has been alleging that the street vendors are illegally occupying the open space and destroying the beauty of the place. The BMC had also many times tried to evict the street vendors but they keep on returning to the place illegally.
