Two Surrendered Maoists Tie Knot in Kandhamal

Bhubaneswar: In a unique gesture, the two surrendered Maoists tied the knot in Kandhamal district on Sunday.

The Odisha police conducted the marriage ceremony of the surrendered lady Maoists – Sapnita Patamajhi alias Nandini and Phulabati Ushendi alias Karuna.

Nandini, a resident of Tumudibandha area in Kandhamal district had surrendered before Police in 2019 and Karuna, who was from

Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, had surrendered in 2021.

The marriage was organized as part of socialization and invitation by the Government to Maoists to come into the mainstream of society.

While Nandini tied knot with Binod of Daringibadi and

Karuna with Swapneswar of G Udaygiri.

The marriage ceremony of both the grooms took place at

Radha- Krishna temple inside Reserve Police campus, phulbani.

The police officers have blessed the couples.
