Vandalization of Chullahs in Roshaghara: Perpetrators Will Be Brought to Book at Earliest: Chief Secretary

Puri: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra and Director General of Police Sunil Kumar Bansal today took stock of the situation in Puri in relation to the vandalization of the Chullahs in Roshaghara (kitchen) of Sri Jagannath Temple.

Both the officers discussed the matter with the Suara and Maha Suara Nijoga Members.

Reacting on the issue, the Chief Secretary Suresh that investigations are going on the basis of CCTV footage and the perpetrators will be brought to book as early as possible.

He further said that there is no conflict between the Suara and Maha Suara Nijoga. He said that henceforth locks will be put up at all places where there is necessary.

The Chief Secretary and DGP also held discussions with Puri Collector and SP regarding the issue.

Discussions were also held about the Heritage Corridor project being undertaken around the Sri Jagannath Temple.
