Vigilance Awareness Week: CM Naveen Patnaik to Administer Integrity Pledge Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: This year, the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 31st October to 6th November, 2022 on the theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be the Chief Guest in the State level function being organized by Odisha Vigilance on October 31, at Lokseva Bhavan here. The CM will administer integrity pledge, circulated by Central Vigilance Commission at 11 AM.

The programme will be telecast live and many among the 70 Lakh Self Help Group members, students of the State as well as field functionaries of government will take the pledge as administered by the Chief Minister, through live telecast.

The Electronics & IT Department, Odisha will also connect all Collectorates and Block offices of Odisha through Video conferencing for Govt. functionaries to take oath to be administered by the CM.

The Chief Secretary will be the guest of honour on the occasion. The best Vigilance Division, Vigilance Unit, Investigating Officer, Woman Investigating Officer and Public Prosecutor will also be awarded in the above function.

In course of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, public meetings will be held at district and block level involving the students, youth, academics, serving and retired Govt. officials, Self Help Groups, NGOs and members of civil society in order to raise public awareness against perils of corruption and enlist the support of all the stakeholders in the anti-corruption campaign.

Further, debate, quiz, cartoon, slogans, painting, rangoli & poster competitions on anti-corruption theme amongst the school and college students have been planned. Public rallies, walkathon and marathon etc. involving students and different sections of society will also be organised at different places to raise awareness.

Besides, ‘Awareness Gram Sabhas’ will be organized in rural areas involving Self Help Groups and members of Gram Panchayats during the Awareness Week.

Also, extensive use of social media platforms, WhatsApp, email, electronic and print media will be done for creating anti-corruption awareness among the public. Bulk SMS featuring the Vigilance toll free number 1064 will be sent to lakhs of mobile users in the State for wide circulation.

The drive for online registration of complaints relating to corruption on the Vigilance website http://odishavigilance.gov.in will further be energized.

The fight against corruption is a long drawn process and needs concerted efforts on multiple fronts. Odisha Vigilance appeals to the people of the State to actively participate in the observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week and contribute to the cause of combating corruption and building a better society and corruption free Odisha.
