Vigilance Sleuths Seize More Assets From Malkangiri Superintending Engineer; More Than 2.1 Kg Gold, Cash And Deposits Worth Crores Found

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Department has unearthed more than 2.1 Kilograms of gold from the possession of Asish Kumar Dash, Superintending Engineer, Rural Works, Malkangiri. While the anti-corruption sleuths unearthed Rs 1.36 crore in cash, 1.2 Kilograms gold and Rs 4 crore in deposits till yesterday, they have found another 899 grams of gold from a locker at Bank of Baroda in Bhubaneswar.

While the raids and searches are continuing, the vigilance officials will search the lockers of Ashish at Axis Bank Gunupur in Rayagada district today.

For Odisha Vigilance Department, this is the highest ever cash seizure in history, which is expected to increase as searches continue.

The Vigilance sleuths had unearthed more than Rs 4 crore worth deposits in various bank accounts of Axis Bank being operated by Ashis and his family members. Ashish was caught red handed by the Vigilance Department officials while allegedly carrying a cash of more than Rs Ten Lakhs following which searches were conducted at various places in the state.
