Bhubaneswar: Suravi & Kala Utsav, one of the biggest children’s festivals in Odisha giving a vibrant platform for the students of government schools to showcase their skills and talents.
This year’s Suravi programne was very special and memorable for the kids as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik personally visited the venue – Govt Boys’ High School, Unit-9 to boost morale of the students.
Accompanied by 5T Secretary VK Pandian, the Chief Minister visited different classrooms and greeted students who were taking part in talent programmes.
The Chief Minister conveyed his best wishes to the students and motivated them to do well in career.
The CM’s visit and encouraging words filled in a great sense of joy in the children.
Later, Naveen launched the Chief Minister’s Award for Education for 5T transformed schools and other schools as well to make the educational ecosystem aspirational by incorporating recognition and reward for students and all stakeholders.
The students achieving excellence in education, educational institutions, principals, teachers, sarpanches, school management committees and old students will be awarded annually and Rs 100 crore will be spent for the same.
The initiative will benefit 50,000 students, 1500 teachers, headteachers, senior education officers, alumni committees, SMC members, and Gram Panchayats to create healthy competition and promote better educational outcomes.
