Who Will Take Moral Responsibility for Death of 750 Farmers during Protests? Asks BJD Leader Pranab Prakash Das

Bhubaneswar: BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das today made a scathing attack on the BJP asking who will take the moral responsibility for loss of lives of innocent farmers during the yearlong protests.

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stunning announcement to repeal the three controversial farm laws, the senior BJD leader took to Twitter to highlight the sacrifice of the farmers.

Tagging Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJD Organizational Secretary raised a series of questions, “Who will take the moral responsibility for the 750 innocent farmers who lost their lives”?

Notably, the Odisha’s ruling party had strongly opposed certain provisions in the three controversial farm laws – The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act.
The BJD had demanded that the Bills be sent to the Select Committee as the concerns of the small and marginal farmers on MSP have not been addressed properly.
