With Transformation Agenda, 5T Secy Visits 23 High Schools in Hinjili

Berhampur: As directed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today visited as many as 23 high schools in Hinjili block in Ganjam district to review the progress of the ambitious ‘High School Transformation’ Programme.

After the health sector, education has been another major focus area of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the transformation of Odisha under the 5T framework of governance.

In line with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision to transform the overall educational environment in the State, the 5T Secretary, who leads the ‘High School Transformation’ project, on Sunday visited the state-run high schools in Bhabandha, Sahapur, Belagan, Gandala, Dayapalli, Durbandha, Kanchuru, Badakhandi, Saru, Makarajhola, Pochilima, Pudingi, Burupada, NAC High School, Brundaban Vidyapetha, Kharida, Sikiri, Allapur, Nandika, Balakrushanpur, OAV, S Ambagam, Sapuapalli and Brundaban Smruit Vidyapetha S Ambagaon.

Pandian held elaborate discussions with Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, other officials of district administration and other stakeholders, such as teachers, students, alumnus and community members, to take stock of progress of the ambitious project.

He made the on-spot review till 10 pm on Sunday.

The 5T Secretary’s visit comes ahead of launch of the project by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik this month.

Pandian will also visit Sheragada block tomorrow to review of implementation of the High School Transformation Programme.

As many as 133 high schools, including 22 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, in Ganjam district are set to get a facelift under the mega project of the government’s 5-T initiative.

Being directly supervised by the 5T Secretary, the programme intends to transform the schools into model schools with all modern facilities, such as e-library, smart classrooms, computer rooms, science laboratories, sports facilities, reading rooms, laboratory, drinking water facilities, hygienic toilets and above all a conducive study environment.

The project is being carried out with the involvement of the local communities, the school management development bodies and the alumnus.
