Nayagarh: Works Secretary VV Yadav and Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today visited Kantilo in Nayagarh District to review the Nilamadhav Temple area development works.
After darshan of the deities, the officials discussed and reviewed various issues with the district officials including the status of the ongoing development works.
Collector Poma Tudu, BDO, Tahasildar and other officials were present during the the discussion.
They also discussed and took suggestions from the Pujaris and Sebayats regarding their problems and what are all initiatives have to be taken to further improve the facilities at this centuries old shrine.
Due to the cultural and religious significance of the Nilamadhav Temple, the government has initiated various developmental works in its peripheries. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had instructed for overall development of the pilgrim facilities at this hilltop temple.
The centuries old Nilamadhava Temple occupies an important place in the Jagannath culture and has been an important place for devotees. Thousands of pilgrims come to have darshan of the deities at this temple every day. Located on the Padmadri and Brahmadri hills on the banks of river Mahanadi, the temple area has a great potential for becoming another important tourist destinations of the state.
