Detailed Schedule of Snana Yatra Rituals of Lord Jagannath Released
Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today finalized the detailed schedule of the Snana Yatra rituals of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
The schedule has been finalized after a meeting with Chhatisa Nijog, informed Chief Administrator of the SJTA Dr. Krishan Kumar.
Puri Collector Balwant Singh, SP Uma Sankar Dash, other officials and servitors were present at the meeting.
Here is the detailed schedule:
• ‘Dhadi Pahandi’ of the Trinity from 1 am to 4 am on June 5.
• The deities will be taken from sanctum sanctorum during the Snana Mandap during the pahandi ritual.
• ‘Mangal Alati’ of the deities at 4.30 am, ‘Mailum’ at 4.40 am and ‘Tadapa Lagi’ ritual at 5 am.
• The rituals such as ‘Adhara Pochha’, ‘Abakasha’, ‘Rosahoma’, ‘Besasesha’, and Surya Puja will be performed after that.
• ‘Jala Bije’, puja and snana rituals of the dieties from 7.30 am to 9.30 am.
• ‘Chherapanhara’ or the ceremonial sweeping by Puri King Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb at around 10.30 am.
• ‘Hati Besha’ of the deities from 11 am to 12 noon.
• The akala Dhupa Neeti’ from 1 am to 3 pm.
• The ‘Bahuda Pahandi’ rituals will be performed from 5 pm to 8 pm and the deities will retire to ‘Anansar Ghar’ after the bath.
The SJTA said that the devotees will not be allowed for darahan this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
