Bhubaneswar: In a major setback to Pradeep Panigrahi, the Additional District and Sessions Court (III) here today denied bail to the controversial Gopalpur MLA.
Earlier, the bail plea of the MLA was rejected by the Bhubaneswar SDJM Court.
Panigrahi, who was arrested on charges of forgery, fraud and criminal conspiracy on December 3, has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days at the Jharpada Special Jail.
Earlier today, the Odisha Government referred the corruption allegations against controversial MLA to Lokayukta for investigation.
This is the first corruption allegation referred by the Government to Lokayukta after its creation.
