5T Model Has Made Odisha A Top Destination For New Investments: Naveen At Transforming Odisha Conclave 2022
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that Odisha has taken massive strides in business and industry transforming itself into a land of opportunities. Despite the pandemic, the state has been able to attract investments of more than Rs 2 Lakh crore in various fields due to its conducive industrial policy and enabling environment. Speaking at the Transforming Odisha Conclave 2022 jointly organized by State Electronics and Information Technology Department and Odisha Computer Application Center in association with the Economic Times, Naveen said Odisha is now emerging as the manufacturing hub of eastern India.
He said, “Odisha over the last few years has taken massive strides in business and industry transforming itself into a land of opportunities. Our conducive industrial policy supported by an enabling environment and a dedicated team, Odisha has brought out a massive change in the industrial ecosystem of the state. Attracting investors and entrepreneurs from all across the world, we are now emerging as the manufacturing hub of eastern India. The resurgent Odisha is also on the path of scripting new success stories in other spheres.”
Speaking on Governance, Naveen said “The overall improvement in governance mechanism through our transformative 5T Model has made Odisha a top destination for new investments. I am happy to inform you that Odisha has been able to attract new investments of over Rs 2 lakh crore across multiple sectors even during the challenging Covid pandemic. I am glad that our Electronics and Information Technology Bill is turning into a critical enabler for ensuring citizen centric governance as we aim to deliver most of the citizen services at the doorsteps of the people. The Department is implementing some pathbreaking technological reforms to reduce physical interface for availing government services. To reduce regulatory burden on industries new entrant online system for over 30 government–to-business services have been developed by various departments of the state.
“Post Pandemic, my government has come up with Odisha Electronics Manufacturing Policy, Odisha Data Center Policy and Odisha BPO Policy to regulate the IT landscape in the state. These brand new policies are very best in the country in terms of providing support and incentives to the industries.”
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra has said that “We are leveraging the power of big data, advanced analytics and visualisation to drive key administrative decisions. We have developed several state-level dashboards and a unified portal Odisha One to facilitate citizen-centric services.”
Chairing the special program, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Department said, “We created a single portal Odisha One to deliver government services at doorsteps and today 440 government services across 44 departments have been integrated with the unified portal.”
The Conclave discussed the paradigm shift in governance, adoption of digital technologies in the new normal and changing landscape and ecosystem of IT and ITeS industries as well as electronics manufacturing in the state of Odisha.
