Puri: Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today visited Puri Srimandir and offered his prayers to the deities.
The 5T Secretary’s visit took place just hours after the Supreme Court in a landmark decision rejected the petition against the ambitious Heritage Corridor Project that aims to transform the pilgrim city of Puri into an international place of heritage.
Puri Collector Samarth Verma, SP Kanwar Vishal Singh and other officials were present during the 5T Secretary’s visit.
After the apex court ruling, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter posted a picture of Srimandir with caption that not a leaf moves without Lord Jagannath’s will.
BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das also visited Jagannath temple.
The Supreme Court has dismissed the petitions filed against the Srimandir Heritage Corridor Project stating them as frivolous and imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh each on the petitioners.
A vacation bench comprising Justices B.R. Gavai and Hima Kohli said the appeals being without any substance are dismissed with cost.
