Bhubaneswar: The 72nd Foundation Day of Odisha Capital City – Bhubaneswar has been cancelled in view of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the State.
This was announced by the Capital Day Celebration Committee today.
The committee celebrates the Foundation Day on April 13 every year in association with the State Government and Khurda district administration.
In the wake of rising number of COVID-19 cases, the committee has cancelled all the programmes related to the mega event this year.
Notably, First Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone of Bhubaneswar as the State Capital on April 13, 1948.
