First World Odia Language Conference: Sports Officials, Players Sing ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: The officials of Department of Sports and Youth Services and players sang the State anthem ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ at Kalinga Stadium to commemorate the first World Odia Language Conference, which began here on Saturday.

The first World Odia Language Conference is a celebration of the antiquity and continuity of Odia.

While inaugurating the three-day conference, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that Odia language is the identity of Odia people.

Odia is a classical language which is getting enriched with the addition of new words regularly, the CM added.

Odia people in other parts of the country and around the globe have also joined the conference online.

On this historic occasion, the State anthem ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ was sung by Sports Secretary R. Vineel Krishna, HPCO CEO Deepankar Mohapatra and other senior officials of the Sports Department at the Kalinga Stadium.

The players and sports hostel inmates also participated in the mass recitation.
