Solar Eclipse On Dec 26: Odisha Government Announces Holiday

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government today  declared a holiday for all school, college and Government offices  in view of the annular solar eclipse that will be witnessed on December 26.

“The Government of Odisha have been pleased to declare that the State Government offices as well as Revenue and magisterial courts ( Executive ) will remain closed on 26th December 2019 ( Thursday) on the occasion of Solar Eclipse.”, stated a notification of Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

On December 26, places such as India, Singapore, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and some parts of Australia will be treated to a ‘ring of fire’ solar eclipse to end the year.

Meanwhile, special arrangements have been made at several places in Bhubaneswar to view the solar eclipse . People can see the partial solar eclipse in the morning through a telescope at Pathani Samanta Planetarium.

Notably,  several parts of India are going to witness the solar ellipse after sunrise from 9 am to 12.29 pm.
