Ukrainian Plane Carrying 180 Passengers Crashes near Tehran

Tehran: A Ukrainian plane carrying 180 people crashed in Iran’s capital Tehran on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashed after take-off from the Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.

The aircraft was operated by Ukraine International Airlines.

The plane crashed due to technical problems.

The airliner said to be a Boeing 737, went down near Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport.

This comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and US over the US government killing of top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani.
