Bhubaneswar: The 71st Republic Day is being celebrated with utmost enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across Odisha today. The State-level celebrations were held at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg here where Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal hoisted the National Flag.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended the programme as Guest of Honour. The CM joined the Governor in the parade program. As many as 48 troupes participated in the Republic Day parade here. Depicting the socio cultural heritage of the state, twelve tableaux with 5 cultural teams took part in the Republic Day parade. Governor Ganeshi Lal took salute at the parade.
For the first time, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik did not unfurl the National Flag and take salute during Republic Day celebrations in Cuttack.
