Coronavirus Death Toll Crosses 100 in China

Beijing: The death toll from China’s coronavirus disease has crossed 100, according to the country’s National Health Commission (NHC).

The number of total confirmed cases in China rose to 4,515 including 1,771 new cases confirmed on Monday, the health authorities said.

The national toll was now 106, authorities said.

24 more people had died in Hubei province, the centre of the outbreak, the Commission said.

There was also a death in Hainan province, and a death in the capital Beijing, which was reported overnight.

Japan, France and Mongolia and other governments are preparing to evacuate citizens from Wuhan, according to reports.

US President Donald Trump offered China “any help that is necessary” to control the virus.
