OHRC Asks Construction Firm to Give Compensation to Victims in Bhubaneswar Airport Mishap

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Tuesday asked the construction firm to give compensations to the victims in the Bhubaneswar Airport mishap.

The Commission has directed Dilip Construction Pvt Ltd to provide compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh to the family of the deceased and financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the injured in the mishap.

In case the firm fails to pay, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) should pay the compensation amount to the victim and the deceased family by deducting the same amount from the bills of firm, the OHRC said.

It may be noted that one person was killed and another two got injured after a roof linking two terminals of the Biju Patnaik International Airport collapsed late Friday night.
