New Delhi: Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel today confirmed the inclusion of Odisha’s Konark Sun Temple as Iconic Tourist Sites of India listed by the Centre.
Replying to Biju Janata Dal MP Dr. Sasmit Patra’s question in Rajya Sabha on when Odisha would be included among the 17 Iconic Tourist Sites of India, the Union Minister confirmed that Konark Temple included as Iconic Tourist Site by Centre among now expanded 19 Iconic Tourist Sites in India.
The Union Minister said that now the 17 Iconic Tourist Sites have been expanded to 19 Sites and Odisha has been included as one.
He also confirmed about he had received the letter of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanding the inclusion of Odisha among the 17 Iconic Tourist Sites.
Dr. Sasmit Patra in his question had referred to the demand for inclusion of Odisha with reference to the letter by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
