Jajpur: Assistant Director, Handicrafts, Jajpur Road of Jajpur has been caught by Vigilance sleuths for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 20,000 on Tuesday.
The officer has been identified as Pravat Mishra.
Mishra has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while he was demanding and accepting the bribe through Laxmipriya Maharana, MCM (Contractual) from a complainant to clear his pending bills of Rs.76,500.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Mishra and seized.
A case has been registered at Cuttack Vigilance in this regard.
Investigation is in progress against Mishra and Maharana.
Simultaneous searches are being conducted on the properties of Mishra and Maharana.
