Panchayat Elections 2022: One ZP Member, 126 Sarpanches, 326 PS Members To Be Elected Uncontested

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Election Commission today released the final list of candidates for the ensuing three-tier Panchayat polls. According to the list, Biju Janata Dal Zilla Parishad candidate from Ambabhona Block Zone-2 Kalpana Pradhan is all set to win the elections as no other contestant has filed nomination against her.

According to the final list, 126 Sarpanches, 326 PS Members and 36,523 Ward members are also set to be elected uncontested as there were no other contestants against them. After the date of withdrawal, total 36, 976 candidates belonging to various posts are all set to be elected unopposed.

The SEC has also said that the elections for the Dhinkia Panchayat and 23 wards in Jagatsinghpur will be held next year.

The Panchayat Elections are scheduled to be held in the state in five phases from February 16 to 24 2022.
