New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs today raised the issue of non-lifting of surplus par-boiled rice by Food Corporation of India from Odisha in Rajya Sabha.
During the Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, the BJD MPs Prasanna Acharya, Dr. Amar Patnaik, Dr. Sasmit Patra and Prashanta Nanda raised the issue of non-evacuation of surplus par-boiled rice by Food Corporation of India from Odisha.
They stated that the Centre should lift surplus par-boiled rice from Odisha which it has stopped arbitrarily. This action of not lifting surplus par-boiled rice from Odisha would severely affect the farmers of Odisha.
The BJD MPs demanded that the Centre should immediately start lifting the surplus par-boiled rice from Odisha without fail.
