Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his humble tributes to Pandit Nilakantha Das, a great freedom fighters and one of the comrades of ‘Panchasakha’ of ‘Satyabadi Era’, on his birth anniversary today.
The Chief Minister remembered the contribution of Pandit Nilakantha Das towards social reformation and enrichment of Odia language and literature.

Pandit Nilakantha Das was born on August 5, 1884 in the village Sri Ramchandrapur of Puri district. He was an orator, politician and social reformer. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1960.
