Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced that Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Vivo will not be the title sponsor of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for Indian Premier League in 2020,” the press release issued by the Indian cricket board stated.
The Chinese mobile company had won the IPL title sponsorship rights for five years from 2018 to 2022 for a sum of Rs 2190 crore, approximately Rs 440 crore per annum.
The 13th edition of the IPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 to November 10 in three venues, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
