Bhubaneswar: In a major success in the fight against Covid-19, Odisha Government has achieved the feat of conducting more than one million Covid-19 tests in the State.
The numbers of Covid-19 caseloads have increased with the ramping up of the tests. Earlier, testing load was high while testing was low , so the positivity rate was high. However the scenario has changed now. In spite of increased in testing, positive caseloads are low. So the positivity rate is going downwards, said an official.
As many as 50,525 tests have been conducted in last 24 hours. Among the districts, Ganjam has conducted highest, 6540 tests in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile , Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed happiness over surpassing one million Covid-19 tests in the State.
In his twitter handle, he wrote, “Glad to share that we have crossed one million #COVID19 test milestone. Thank everyone who worked tirelessly to scale up testing facilities in short time and ramp up testing expeditiously to intensify our fight against the pandemic and save precious lives.”
