New Delhi: Odisha’s daughter Droupadi Murmu today took oath as 15th President of India.
Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana administered the oath of office of the highest constitutional post of the country to Murmu at the Central Hall of Parliament.
Vice-President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M.Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Members of the Council of Ministers, Governors attended the ceremony.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Chief Ministers of other States, heads of heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and principal civil and military officers of the government were also present on the occasion.
Before taking oath, Murmu paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat this morning.
