IPS Officers’ Transfer Issue: Mamata Expresses Gratitude to 4 CMs for Showing Solidarity to WB Govt

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee has expressed gratitude to the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan for showing their solidarity with the West Bengal government on the issue of transfer of IPS officers.

Mamata stated that the BJP-led Central government is interfering with her government by transferring three IPS officers.

“The Centre is brazenly interfering with State Govt functioning by transferring police officers”, the West Bengal Chief Minister tweeted.

She also thanked Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M K Stalin, who has strongly condemned the Modi-led Central Government’s action.
Stalin described the “unilateral transfer” of three West Bengal IPS officers by the central government as “autocratic and anti-federal”.
“ My gratitude to @bhupeshbaghel @ArvindKejriwal @capt_amarinder @ashokgehlot51 & @mkstalin for showing solidarity to people of Bengal & reaffirming their commitment to federalism. Thank you!”’, Mamata tweeted.

Recently, the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan alleged that the Centre’s order transferring the officers is interference in the functioning of West Bengal’s administration.
