New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha today passed the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019 today.
The bill, also known as UAPA , gives powers to DG, NIA to attach properties acquired from proceeds of terrorism. It aims at facilitating speedy investigation and prosecution in terror-related offences.
The bill seeks to empower the government to deal more effectively with activities directed against India’s sovereignty and integrity.
