Night Curfew Enforced in Koraput from Today

Koraput: In view of increasing COVID-19 cases in the neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh, the Koraput district administration has enforced night curfew from today in a bid to impose restrictions on the free movement of people and vehicles.

In an order, the district administration said that the duration of the night curfew will be from 10:00 PM to 5 AM every day, unless otherwise noted.

All movement of any nature, except that noted hereunder, shall cease during this period. All shops, restaurants, offices, commercial establishments, markets and movement of individuals shall remain closed/prohibited during this period, unless otherwise excepted, the order said.

The following activities/personnel are allowed during the curfew period

• Administrative and Police personnel on duty
• Personnel of the Armed Forces of the Union and Paramilitary forces like BSF, CRPF in the course of their duty
• Hospitals, Doctors, medical staff, ambulances etc d.
• Emergency workers of all public utilities like railways, water supply, electricity, fire, transport services, telecom etc
• Chemist shops and their staff
• All industrial units like NALCO, HAL etc g. All construction activities, whether Government or private
• Staff and workers of the National Highways Authority of India
• Hotels with accommodation
• Dhabas along highways for takeaway only
• Petrol Pumps
• Media personnel as allowed by District Police with ID cards
• LPG delivery
• Public transport and private vehicles from bus stands and railway stations o. Home delivery of food, groceries, vegetables etc by vendors
• Any person in an emergency, medical or otherwise
Meanwhile, Koraput Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar appealed the people to follow Covid guidelines strictly.
