Volunteers Make Meaningful Difference in People’s Lives: Odisha CM on World Red Cross Day

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today lauded the role of volunteers in serving the people dedicatedly and selflessly in this challenging time.

In a message on the occasion of World Red Cross Day, the Odisha CM said that millions of volunteers around the world are serving people dedicatedly and selflessly, making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

“In this challenging time, millions of volunteers around the world are serving people dedicatedly and selflessly. On World Red Cross Day, let us recognise their contribution who make meaningful difference in people’s lives and pledge to do our bit to alleviate human suffering”, the Chief Minister said.

The World Red Cross Day is celebrated to commemorate the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. On World Red Cross Day, people pay tribute to the humanitarian agency for their great contribution for helping people in need. The 2021 World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day theme is ‘Unstoppable’. The first Red Cross Day was celebrated on May 8, 1948. The official title of the day changed over time, and became World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day in 1984.
