Bhubaneswar: Retired IAS officer Bijay Patnaik, who has joined the Congress party, was speaking as if he is a spokesperson of BJP, but not the Congress, said the Biju Janata Dal.
The statements that Bijay Patnaik made in his first press conference after joining the Congress seemed that the former IAS officer was talking like a spokesperson of BJP, not of Congress , said BJD leader Lenin Mohanty.
Everyone knows very well how anxious Patnaik was to join politics and stay in power after retiring from government service. For this, he wanted to join Biju Janata Dal and go to the Rajya Sabha. But as that was not possible, he finally turned around and joined the Congress party, said Lenin Mohanty at a press meet here on Monday.
It is now clear that in the future Bijay Patnaik will remain in the Congress and work as the spokesperson of the BJP, Mohanty added.
