Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will confer the “Biju Patnaik Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar” award to the best performing Gram Panchayats, Blocks and Zilla Parishads on the occasion of state level celebration of Lokseva Diwas-2023 on March 5.
The awards will given for their exemplary work in the field of good governance, strengthening of livelihoods and effective public service delivery, said the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.
The objectives of the award are to assess the performance of PRIs in attaining SDGs through nine identified themes, promote competitive spirit among PRIs in the State and catalyze the process of ‘Localization of SDGs through PRIs’ and sensitizing them about significance of attaining LSDGs by 2030.
The award money will be e-transferred to the concerned Award Winner Gram Panchayats, Block Panchayats and ZPs to their respective designated bank accounts, the Department said.
