Berhampur Police Starts ‘Cyber Safety Campaign’ 

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police on Monday started the ‘Cyber Safety Campaign’ in the silk city to make people aware of the cyber threats.

A cyber safety rath was flagged off at the DPO Berhampur in the presence of Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, MLA Bikram Panda, Mayor Sanghamitra Dalei, Deputy Mayor E. Vivek Reddy, IG Southern Range Satyabrata Bhoi, Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M, BeMC Commissioner J. Sonal, Berhampur Sub-Collector Ashutosh Kulkarni C and other dignitaries.

As the cyber crime has increased across the country including Odisha, the Cyber Safety Campaign assumes greater significance in sensitizing the mass regarding various cyber safety measures.

As part of this campaign, the cyber safety rath will travel across Berhampur to create awareness among people about cyber threats. The cyber safety rath will play audio-video messages at bus stands, markets and other places of public gathering. Quiz competitions will also be conducted among students in schools and colleges.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the state-wide Cyber Safety Campaign by flagging off 34 awareness raths from the Kalinga Stadium.
