Bhubaneswar: In a major digital initiative, e-office system will be introduced at the five police battalions of the Odisha Police soon, informed Director General of Police (DGP) Bijay Kumar Sharma on Tuesday.
Speaking at the 3rd Conference of Commandants of Armed Police Battalions in Police Bhawan here, Sharma said that the battalions in Malkangiri, Rourkela, Cuttack, Dhenkanal & Khurda will be brought under the purview of e-office facility with latest technologies in the first phase.
The rest of battalions will be covered by March 2020, he said while adding that the e-office system will enable the battalions to deliver services much faster.
E-office will provide a digital platform to police force to express their opinions. At the same time, it will also reduce unnecessary paperwork and save relevant time and bring in transparency, he stated.
The DGP also launched the e-Office application in the presence of commandants of 20 battalions and the heads of two training centres.
