Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance on Friday nabbed an Assistant Engineer in Cuttack for taking bribe from a contractor.
Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, Asst. Engineer, O/o BDO, Salipur has been apprehended by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.40,000 from a contractor for release of amount relating to supply of cement, metal, sand etc. and labor for execution of 3 CC Roads.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Nayak.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the engineer from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.38/2023 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Nayak, the Vigilance said.
