Odisha DGP Chairs High Level Meeting on Poll Preparedness 

Cuttack: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi on Saturday chaired a high level meeting on the election preparedness of the state police.

The DGP has directed all senior police officers to conduct the upcoming general elections in a free and fair, crime-free and law-and-order manner.

The top cop has emphasized to follow all the rules of the Election Commission of India.

In view of the general elections, the DGP has directed the senior officials to check the blocking and motor vehicles at sensitive places. He also advised the police officers to win the trust and confidence of the common people.

In the meeting, Sarangi reviewed various important issues through video conferencing with all the IGs and DIGs of the state.

Addl. D.G. of Police (HRPC),Director (SCRB), Addl. D.G of Police(SAP), Director (Intelligence), Addl. D.G of Police (Hdqrs.), Commissioner of Police (Cuttack- Bhubaneswar), Addl. D.G. of Police (L&O), Addl. D.G. of Police (Operations), Addl. D.G. of Police, (Railways & Coastal Security), I.G. of Police, (Prov.), IG of Police, (Personnel), I.G. of Police (CAW & CW), I.G. of Police (Communication), DCP (Cuttack) and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Several crucial issues including cases related to election crimes in social media, election related violence in Maoist affected districts, illegal liquor related crime mapping and preparation of postal ballot were discussed in the meeting.
