‘Ama Bus Stand’ Yojana: CM Naveen Dedicates 21 Bus Stands In 13 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday dedicated 21 new bus stations in 13 districts of the state under ‘Ama Bus Stand’ Yojana.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of 124 block-level bus stands in 26 districts.

Explaining it as a new milestone in the transport sector, the Chief Minister said that once all these bus stands are completed, two crore people of the state will benefit.

The Chief Minister said that all these bus stands are very modern and smart bus stands. It has facilities for passengers, driver and all staffers in bus transportation sector.

On the occasion, the CM also unveiled the ‘Mo Paribahan Seba’ and mobile app.

He said that there will be no need to go to government offices for various transport services. To make the drivers more efficient in driving, the Chief Minister launched the Su-Bahaka Yojana. 50,000 drivers will be trained under this plan. The CM inaugurated a driving training center at Palur in Ganjam. The Chief Minister advised to attach utmost importance to the safety of road and road users and passengers.

The Chief Minister said that a good transport system paves the way for a better economy. Various institutional services and facilities like schools, colleges, hospitals etc. can be easily accessed with good roads. It works as a catalyst towards building a dynamic social and economic society. The Chief Minister advised the Transport Department to continue efforts to provide better quality transport services to the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the trend of good governance has continued in an uninterrupted manner in the state for last 23 years. She said that efforts are being made to develop road transport as well as railway and air transport in the state for the development of communication.

In Puri, E&IT Minister Tusarkanti Behera and in Sonepur, Health Minister Niranjan Pujari were present and praised the Chief Minister for the transport system and bus stand infrastructure.

Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian moderated the program. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was given by the Chairman and Managing Director of OSRTC.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and other senior officials were present.
