Amphan Likely to Make Landfall over between Digha and Hatiya close to Sundarbans By Evening, Wind Speed to Clock 155-165 kmph

Bhubaneswar: Super cyclone ‘Amphan’ as an extremely severe cyclonic storm is centred over northwest bay of Bengal near about 140 km east-northeast of Paradip, 125 km south-southeast of Digha, 125 km nearly south of Sagar island and 275 km west-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), stated IMD report at 11.30 am today.

Movement and Wind Speed :
The Amphan is likely to move north-northeast wards and cross West Bengal – Bangladesh coast between Digha and Hatiya close to Sundarbans during afternoon to evening hours of today with a wind speed of 155-165 kmph gusting to 185 kmph.

Due to the Amphan the wind-speed clocked to 87 kmph at Paradip-87, while Chandabali witnessed the wind speed of 65 kmph. Likewise, the wind speed was touched 74 kmph while capital Bhubaneswar experienced the wind speed of 41 kmph at 11.30 am.

The wind speed likely to touch 100 to 110 gusting to 125 kmph along and off Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts till afternoon and over Balasore district till evening.
