Bangalore Police Urges Odia Migrant Not To Leave Amid Lockdown

Bengalore: Even as the Odia migrant labourers have already started to leave the Bengalore due to COVID-19 pandemic, city  police appealed to Odia people stranded there not to leave the city during nationwide lockdown.

In a video message, Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao urged the workers from Odisha to stay safe there as the Karnataka Government is committed to take care of them.

“Stay here and resume work. I urge everyone not to panic. We will provide all of you the best services here,” Rao said.

He also said that the migrants to be in touch with the Bengaluru Police if they face any issue during the period.

“If required contact the nearest police station for assistance. The CM has directed all the police and administrative officials to take care of labour class and ensure them to avail proper food and accommodation,” Rao said.
