Bargarh: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested the Assistant Agriculture Officer-cum-Fertilizer Inspector, Paikmal in Bargarh district for allegedly taking bribe from a fertilizer dealer.
The Assistant Agriculture Officer has been identified as Pranaya Kumar Mantry.
Mantry was apprehended by vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs1,50,000 from a fertilizer dealer threatening to cancel his fertilizer license otherwise.
Following trap, simultaneous searches have been launched at 3 locations of Mantry. Investigation is in progress, the vigilance said.
