Berhampur: In a significant development, a private hospital here has been sealed for allegedly medical negligence on Friday.
Berhampur Sub Collector raided and sealed the Gurudev Hospital after a woman died due to allegedly negligence by the medical staff.
According to reports, a woman patient, identified as Aiswarya Singh Deo (24), was admitted to the hospital on February 17 complaining stomach ache. She was later diagnosed with appendicitis.
But the woman died while undergoing treatment.
Kin of the deceased, however alleged that administration of high doses of anesthesia to the woman led her to death and had staged protest demanding cancellation of the hospital’s licence.
